Opinion: Let me start by saying I love this series. I haven’t read a slice of life this good in SO long.

The art is very shoujo but so unique. This artist really has her own art style that tows the line between shoujo and shounen and it works really well. I find in most series the students always look much older but you can really tell how young and in experienced these characters are just through the art.

This series is a wonderful portrayal of first love in high school. I totally remember feeling exactly as Serena did at every stage of a new relationship. The anxiety of new love as well as the excitement.

What I also love so much about this series is the final wonderful portrayal of a healthy and loving relationship. No games no drama, the male lead often will pull the heroine aside to talk things out without judgement. There are also plenty of great examples of getting consent.

Absolutely must read for anyone who loves shoujo.

Final Rating: 5/5

Extra: Reminds be a lot of Say I Love You but with a LOT less drama. I didn’t even think anything could beat Say I Love You in healthy relationships but here we are!
