Opinion: Graphics are perrrfect. Great mix of modern shoujo with the edge of shounen.

Okay. Let me start by saying this series is terrible. Even going off of one chapter I can tell you now that you would be wasting your time reading this. I nearly considered just not reviewing it but then I thought of all the poor souls who would be sucked in by the cool sounding name, the prestige of the group scanlating it, and the somewhat stupid synopsis.

It’s not that I hate harem. Okay maybe I hate harem. But there HAS to be a better way of introducing 9 males. I honestly haven’t got a clue how many there actually are. I mean Ouran High did a fantastic job of introducing everyone without me getting exhausted, COME ON. They aren’t even DOING ANYTHING. Not only do I not know any of the characters I haven’t got a clue what happened in the first chapter. Was there a plot? I don’t know.

Do I sound angry? I am because it was such a huge waste of time. The heroine is absolutely vanilla stereotypical female. There is nothing special about her. She doesn’t even look like a heroine. Which… I have no idea who the main character IS. I mean I thought it was the guy with the braid who narrates but by the end of the chapter I get this terrible terrible gut feeling that each chapter is narrated by a new guy. THATS AT LEAST 6 DIFFERENT CHAPTERS. 6 different chapters of some cliched trope going on about how unique they are compared to the other boys and how much they love the girl. WHAT!?

The moment I realized (way too late might I add) that this manga was based off a dating sim I flipped my computer. Just because you think your dating sim is cool doesn’t mean you can take the exact dating sim and make it a manga. I’m not even saying making it INTO a manga, I mean just make it a manga. Because whatever you’re doing just isn’t working and you need to stop.

Okay so I’m gonna clarify the summary because I thought it was going to be something WAY different. Her brother ACTUALLY inhabits her body and switches in and out. Kinda two souls one body. Totally not what I wanted and not a happy surprise either.

I was reading some other reviews and people were like “I dunno how you found this confusing HAHA!” and I was just sitting there pulling my hair out. IT WAS SO CONFUSING. I could barely recognize who people were and don’t get me started on the difference between the brother and sister.

I just didn’t feel it. This story is BANKING on the idea that you feel connected to the main character and I couldn’t buy it. It was there in the first and second chapter but when it got confusing I got pulled out of the story.

Honestly I wouldn’t even bother with this one unless you enjoy the art.

Okay. To be honest it’s exactly like the bland synopsis. If you’ve read one of the maid ones you’ve definitely read this. No surprises… I meant there were but it wasn’t really a “surprise”. The girls an idiot the boy pretends to be bad ass blah blah blah.

Not to say I HATED it. I love this kind of trash. Pretty sure I started an absolutely terrible InuYasha Fanfic with Kagome and Sessomaru on the same basis. People LOVED it. (You will never find my ff.net account so don’t try.)

I don’t care if that chocolate bar has no nutritional value I’m gonna eat it anyways; and if you are just as careless with your brain you will silently accept this story. It’s only one chapter anyways.

Opinion: Very unique. Slender and yet delicate. Very expressive as well, which is fantastic when you have a very stoic character. The smallest details count.

SO I was too tired to review yesterday so I’m cheating and putting this one up for yesterday and another one up for today. Couldn’t think of anything to review since I’ve been busy. Go to my handy dandy stuff to review list and was floored by the fact I STILL hadn’t reviewed Sarashi Asobi despite starting it when it when the first chapter was scanlated; AND based on the fact that it is so absolutely amazing!

The main character is a sweet tsundere. She is so loveable and a bit of a clutz but an amazing heroine. She never waits for some guy to come save her, she will always stand up for herself and the ones she loves. One of the best heroines I’ve come across in a while. The male counter part and even her friends is/are so amazing as well. Very three dimensional characters that are easy to fall in love with.

The supernatural part of the plot was SO INTERESTING. Like, EXTREMELY creative. Kinda sad that it ended at two volumes… but I’m okay with how it ended. Sometimes it’s better to leave the party at the height rather the hang over.

Strongly recommend.

Opinion: Gorgeous. Absolutely stunning. It’s a mature style but is just so jaw dropping. I love the boys and the main character is so adorable.

Okay so I got this on a whim for my birthday last year. Tokyopop released 1-5 before closing. Judging from the cover and the synopsis I was unimpressed but looking for new reads anyways.

I was hooked. From the very beginning I was hooked. The main character is this super woman trying to live her adult life. She is extremely passionate about her work and gets entangled in these tangible and sweet (sometimes heart breaking) love affairs.

It’s so… slice of life. I know it sounds boring and I can’t really hype it up anymore because it is very basic. But it’s so believable and nice without being overly dramatic.

If you can get your hands on this… just like Mars… KEEP IT! Also if anyone knows Japanese/Korean/Chinese I have scans that I have to confirm the language but I have all the scans. So I could clean and typset so we could have the rest of the series. Just saying.

Opinion: That awkward moment when you run a shoujo manga review site for 3 years and still haven’t reviewed Mars. AWKWARD. Moving on.

Graphics are obviously older looking but still have a LOT of appeal. I love it.

As for plot. Very dramatic and very creative. The whole bad boy meets good girl thing is old news but this series puts it in such an interesting light. The twins, the girls back ground. Okay some of it may be cliche but it still manages to leave you hooked from the first volume.

Great dynamic characters that go through an obvious arc. Basically all the makings of a good story.

Absolute must read classic. I know no ones gonna scanlate it since Tokyopop has the rights. Not to mention Tokyopop doesn’t EXIST any more. If you can get your hands on this gem NEVER LET IT GO.
